Opera 9.10 Available

Opera has released an update to their most awesome browser this week (9.10). The biggest update I'd have to mention is the inclusion of a "Fraud Protector" which interfaces with an Opera site (sitecheck.opera.com) which holds information from PhishTank and GeoTrust regarding fraudulent websites. If one of these suspect sites is found the browser will notify you and of course give you a warning regarding the sites trustworthiness.

I have yet to experience the sitechecker catching something but my browsing it typically restricted to trustworthy sites :) And all around good feature, though, to prevent the click happy folks from installing crap or visiting untrustworthy sites.

I've been an Opera user for years and although some sites that are crappily coded aren't rendered properly (more of the sites issue than the browser in my opinion), the speed and features and small memory footprint can't be beat.

Speed it up!

The network of Nokia Blogs around the net is quite extensive. While browsing around a fairly new site (S60 Life), I noticed a pretty cool little entry regarding OpenDNS. This company apparently provides dedicated DNS servers for the general public and promises somewhat of a speedier response when waiting for that URL you typed in to resolve. I personnaly have tried it on my cell phone and although I haven't noticed any huge difference in response times when typing in some random address, results are different for everyone and Im sure it definitely cant hurt. E-Series.org....the place for Nokia E61/62 owners

About a month ago I purchased the new E62 from Cingular and damn is this phone nice. Beautiful screen, intuitive interface, excellent support for Blackberry connect or Mail for Exchange emailing, and one of the best browsers I've seen on a PDA/Smartphone (outside of Windows Mobile anyway). I, of course, wanted to know what other types of applications can be installed on the Symbian OS that it runs and while searching the net, I stumbled across a really excellent site called E-Series. The creator, Ed, has really put together an excellent resource of other sites dedicated to Nokia E-series fans and has quite the compendium of interesting articles, links, and even themes.

Anyone wanting to find some cool stuff for their Symbian devices should really check this place out. So get goin!

So it begins...

Welcome folks to my newest venture into the blogging world! The point of this blog will be to review or comment on whatever technological trend/product/news I thought was the least bit interesting. My last blog attempt failed miserably (well it really had no point anyway) so hopefully I'll get a few more hits on this site than the other.

In any case, let the writing begin!
